Default Having a problem with my active handling

A couple of weeks ago my active handling would start activating just driving down the road. Then my service active handling Warning would come on followed by the service vehicl soon warning. This happens every time I am driving my car. I had put on a new set of 19/20 ruff racing rims and I did have to use a spacer on the fronts only. These are the codes that I am getting 28 TCS C 1287 H and A6 SCM
U1160 H Is there a quick fix to this or should I just take it into the stealership and have them take forever to fix it. I do have an extended warrantee. I just don't like waiting a week to have them fix, eventhough they do a great job. Thanks for lookin and all your advice, be it bad, good or whatever.

Are you sure that your front tires are smaller than the rears?

Make sure you set your current tire sizes in the PCM. Are these new tires scaled up/down in size equally from the stock sizes? You could be causing your EBCM to go

'Bluefire' Hi, can give more info on the effect on the EBTCM as I am also chasing a similar problem - does the PCM need to be informed if the stagger changes from front to rear

Here is a link to look at. C1287 is a Steering Wheel Position Senor error. I'm not sure how you would have gotten that by having new wheels/tires put on the car.

Actually, the tire size parameter in the PCM is only for calibrating the speedometer. The ABS/TC/AH computer is where the stagger is expected, and that is not programmable (at least by the PCM tuning software.) The computer expects the rear tires to be about 1" larger in diameter than the fronts. If the rear tires are a smaller diameter than the fronts, you can expect to start throwing codes and get stuck in low power mode.

My front tires are 26.73 in diameter and the 17 inch tirew(originals) are 26.67 diameter tires. So the diameter is not an issue. The backs are the same diameter as the originals also. my set is as follows. In the front 245/35/19 and backs are 285/30/20. I do have my original set up and I am going to put those rims back on and see what happens. I will let you know if the active handling goes off with my original set up. Thanks for your help and I will keep you posted.

Those sizes you are running are fine. I have a feeling that you will get the same codes with the original wheels back on. You might have legit problems with the sensors or something. My car did something strange the other day after the battery died sitting in storage, it thought that the cluch was not depressed even though it was too the floor. Messing with it for about 30 minutes didn't do anything. I disconnected the battery, rebooted PCM and everything working fine as usual now. Might want to try that... Free fix worth a try...

Default Service Lights

Sorry I have no answer yet but I'm working on my car as well. My active control handling , abs, and traction cortrol handling service light is coming on. This happen just driving down the street. Some weekends it doesn't come on at all. I had it scaned and I'm not sure of the code, but I was told it was my front speed sensor. But I just replaced both front speed sensors? I also replace the front shocks. I have two buddies who have vetts doing the same thing. I'm not sure but I'm thinking maybe a fuse relay? I will keep everyone posted when I fix it (hopefully). It is strange that alot of people are having these problems. My engine check light comes on as well I guess because of the mods. I have it scaned off but comes right back on.

Has nothing to do with your tire sizes ......

C1287 indicates your Steering Wheel Position Sensor (SWPS) is failing. If you are mechanically inclined you can replace it yourself. Otherwise, the dealer or a good Corvtte shop will be able to do the work.

You need to display the DTC data and start a new thread with the data posted in it.

Go here for info on how to display the DTC data on your DIC.....

https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=26&TopicID=1

The DTC data will also tell you why your CHECK ENGINE light is coming on.

Well, I took it to the stealership and they found that the Steering Position sensor was bad. They changed it out and so far no problems. It was only $450. I am glad I have an extended warantee. Thanks for everyones help and advice.
