Message on dic

Message on dic
I filled car up with gas and after started the car and this message come across on the dic.It said ..pull key wait 10 seconds. i did what it said tried to pull away and car stopped running.It happened 3 times.Then a steering column locked message came up. Still new to this corvette. Its a 98.Waiting a few min. and then everything seemed fine.I was just wondering whats going on with that?Or is it ok to drive?

You have the infamous coulmn lock. you will have to get this fixed, next time you might not be able to get the wheel to unlock.

do a search on "column lock bypass" in this forum (at top too) if you want plenty of info. bottom line is that you buy on from one of the suggested vendors and put it in. this problem can cause severe personal problems when your car quits and wont start ever again(without a bunch of work)!
