Default just changed cam

Now I have a sound that sounds like a lifter ticking. I was told this is normal with a cam. Its a blower cam if that matters. CAn someone tell me if thats true.

My stroked LS6 sounds like a sewing machine, and it has brand new lifters if that makes you feel any better. Cammed LS1's are generally noisy. I would check your pushrod length, just to be safe.

Does it tick all the time, or just for awhile after start up?

Recheck all your rocker arms to make sure they are tight and torqued down. Otherwise it could be a collapsed lifter. How many miles on the engine?

I believe the rockers should be at 22 or 24 lbs, then they will adjust themselves.

It has 85k on it, I did the cam with the head on. It really isn't that loud its just there now and wasn't before the cam install.

See if you can pin point the sound. Is it on one side of the engine? Is it on the lower or upper part of the engine etc.

The sewing machine sound is normal with a cammed LS1. Especially if you have dual valve springs. What you're hearing is the valve closing events. If you have headers that sound will be further amplified.
