This summer I want to put some power under my hood. I have most of the bolt-ons you can get (CAI, Compete exhaust system with headers/HF cats, ported TB, ported MAF, 32lb injectors and Tune)
I'm dying for more low end torque (peak power at 5000+rpm isn't as important to me)
Here's the vague plan trying to keep the budget reasonable:
LS6 Heads (ported?)
LS6 intake (ported?)
Cam (specs TBA)
Valvetrain upgrade
Underdrive pulley
Double roller timing chain
Misc goodies that go with a H/C swap
question #1: Parts only, what $$ range am I looking at?
question #2: If i decide to port the LS6 heads/intake, would this affect my cam seclection?
You may or may not pick up any low end tq moving up to a LS6 setup. Best bet for low end TQ? Roots blower. Maggie is your friend.
If you do go the heads/cam route, remember that typically the larger the cam, the lower the low end tq. It's a trade off. Keep is low in duration and you might see some tq gains on the bottom end.
I have a hunch that a maggie would be slightly more expensive than even the most exotic head/cam swaps....plus wouldn't I have to re-do the fuel system as well?

I can tell you that a blower set up may not be as expensive as you think, depending on your car's mileage, overall engine condition and tranny you can get away with not having to upgrade too much to get a blower kit put on. An H/C believe it or not could be more expensive if you have to upgrade a lot of items to handle the added stress. Look around the forum and see what others have to say about it. I've seen a few prices for blower set ups installed in the 8K range.
I just did a H/C, hell just look below and it was a good portion of my working budget for my project.
