Headlights started squeaking tonight... any ideas???

Headlights started squeaking tonight... any ideas???
Pulled in the garage, turned off the lights... "SQUEAK!!!!"... :confused: :confused: :confused:
Turned them back on... "SQUEAK!!!!"
WTF????????????????
Anybody ever have this happen...? Is it the hinges, or the actuator??? Fixes???

Hi Jim,
Had the same problem on my Vette. Easy fix, take the black plastic off from around the head lights (3 screws), then take the headlight cover off (4 srews).
Spray oil or silicone spray on all the hinges and moving parts. test it, it may take a couple of times before the noise is gone. It lasts a while too. Remember, don't put it back together until the squeak is gone.

Like some said just spray some silicone spray or WD-40 on the hinges. Mine did this last year, sprayed some WD-40 on the hinges (didn't have to take anything apart or unscrew anything) and it hasn't squeaked since.
