Car Lurching - Clutch slippage?
Except this problem is occurring while fully in gear. The problem happens in all gears and at all speeds.
The problem is significantly pronounced when excellerating and not as bad during higher speeds, however it is still noticable.
I drive a Base C5 Year 2000 with 70,000 miles if any of that helps.
What could be the problem here? Clutch slippage? would the clutch slip and then grab repeatedly? That would cause the car to lurch wouldnt it?
Need help, thanks.
Ryan.
I tried to restart the car and the engine had quite a bit of struggle starting up. Then I tried reving the engine after I put a demand on the engine and it bogged down and started lurching... which would indicate to me its some sort of problem with the fuel system.
Either not enough fuel or perhaps too much?
Anyone have any suggestions on how I can verify what the problem is exactly?
Thanks.
Ryan.
If you don't know how to do it, go here .....

Post the codes and someone can help in diagnosing the problem.
Just put fresh gas in it and played with the battery connections because whenever the problem occurs it was wreaking havoc on my Battery monitor gauge, Car is now running, not perfectly but atleast running.
After driving at multiple different speeds and all gears I beleive I have cycled enough fuel to get most of whatever the hell was in there OUT of there.
Now I still am trying to figure out exactly what happened, so It doesnt happen again. Would a contamination via water have this effect on a car?
Fuel filter is next to be replaced as well as several other filters, but what kind of debris or water or fluid would cause something SO PRONOUNCED?
Thanks again for any advice or help.
Ryan.

Just some random thoughts ......
* If this was bad fuel it would have occured within minutes of fueling the car .... had you just refueled the car ???
* Have you checked the engine intake air ?? The MAF is located just behind the air filter. There are some "connections" that the intake air flows through (such as the air bridge over the top of the radiator assembly) to the throttle body and engine. Check ALL of the connections and parts between the MAF and the throttle body looking for leaks .... if "unmetered" air is entering the system between the MAF and the throttle body it could drive as you are dexcribing.
* You say the battery "monitor" gauge was going crazy ..... have you checked your battery connections ?? With the engine idling, if you yank on the POSITIVE battery connection to the starter, does this make any difference ???
