My 99 A4 did the same thing. What temps is the trans running? Has the fluid ever been flushed and the filter inspected for debris? If there is a program like hpertech that increased the line pressure your tech is correct the tranny needs a rebuild. Mine crapped out at 57k due to manual shifting and increased line pressure. The temps started rising and the function began to deteroriate slipping etc that you describe. There is no cheap fix I searched. Had a rebuild with heavy duty components pump clutches bands etc. The A4 is a great trans but if you treat it hard it will fail due to heat and line pressure. Sorry for the azzhat responses you received. Not all corvette owners are jackasses.
You could try the filter change and fluid flush with dextronVI and see what happens. Get rid of the program that increased the line pressure. Thank you for your professionalism. I'd bring my corvette to you
The GM Tech2 already told us that the trans was done. He did his diagnostics with the tech2, manually inspected the line pressure, road tested it, and put it up in the air for visual inspection (including inspecting the fluid).
Unfortunately, we don't have a service history on the car, only the owner can tell us the last time it was serviced, but from my conversations I had with him, he said it didn't need service until 100,000 miles. (which I beleive the owner's manual does actually say)
A customer dumb enough to believe a web "fix" for $15.00 is probably NOT a customer you either want to keep, or will ever be happy (will bad mouth you anyway) ....
Gee Whiz! The Turbinator says it will increase your MPG 33%! So, lets all buy about 10 of them, install them in series, and start MAKING our own fuel to sell to others. Just think of it... CORVETTE FUEL! You could see them for a huge premium!!!
