Ok, So I replace my oil pressure sending unit yesterday. I did the cut out method in case it goes out again it will be easier to access. It worked fine and oil pressure was good. This morning 130 PSI

I was wondering if I have the record? I've heard of others going 300 miles or maybe three weeks but come on, less than one day. This is

Is the Buick sending unit I read about suppose to last longer than the standard OEM?

From what I've read, two things which are very important:

Do not overtorque the new sensor. In fact, probably better to slightly under torque. Believe you should shoot for something like 13 ft lbs.

Check to make certain that there is NO, absolutely -0- amount of oil in the oil pressure sensor connector. Before you hook up the new sensor. Many times the old sensor leaks oil and it (oil) gets on & in the electrical connector. Very important to get this all cleaned out (brake clean?) and dry, before you hook it up to the new sensor.

The Buick one is brass and should be more robust. Certainly can't be any worse than your last experience! Make sure you get the company you ordered from to honor the warranty.

Sorry to hear that. I replaced mine about 10 mos/6k miles ago and it works fine. I did torque it to 12 lbs like jovette mentioned. At least you have the access hole, should be any easy fix.

BTW, thanks for your service. I was part of the 1st Cav long ago.

I can't count the number of times I've had my stock 2001 sensor off/on new motors and motor combos. I just don't understand why so many people have this issue. But good luck on the resolution.
