Occasional problem getting into 1st?

I drove the vette to work on Monday (only the 2nd time out this year), and twice on the way home I had trouble getting it into first gear. I did not want to hamfist it, so I pulled it back to 2nd then ran it to 1st. After a few tries, it finally went in to 1st. As I said this happened on two separate occasions. I have never had this problem before. It may be a coincidence, however I just put Amsoil ATF in the tranny (last thursday). Last summer I performed the Anti Venom mod, but drove it for some time with no issues, so I don't think that it has any bearing on this problem. Any ideas?

Mine does it.. usually if i put it in reverse then it slides easy into first

Is it some sort of malfunctioning 1st gear lockout? Does the C5 even have a 1st gear lockout? I am relieved to hear that my issue does not have any serious implications...
