I just bought my C5 yesterday, and I drove it home 650 miles and there was no issues at all with normal driving. However, when you go WOT and push it a little, the clutch pedal goes mushy when I want to shift to the next gear and it won't go into ANY gear. I just put it in neutral, pull to the side of the road and wait a minute or two, then it goes into gear again and drives fine. I tried gettin on it again, and the same thing happened. What's the issue? Bad clutch? Please let me know asap and thanks for your help in advance.
Clutch is probably fine. You are now a proud member of the Chevrolet crap clutch that all of us have to deal with. Either do a bleed yourself or take it down to your favorite shop and have the clutch bled. The pedal will be great after that. I could go into a lot of boring details but basically you just need to bleed the clutch.
I just installed a new Textralia - what a POS. I am going back to an OEM Z06 clutch but will keep my LS7 throw out bearing and Calloway Master.
By the way, after 91,000 miles my OEM original clutch still looked brand new so don't let folks tell you the clutch is bad. Just bleed the sucker periodically.
Thanks guys. I took it to a GM shop and they changed out the fluid and bled the system, and while it's better, I still have some problems when driving aggressive. Maybe they didn't clean it thoroughly enough?
Just do Rangers method at home, and then see how it feels. If you are still having issues after that then you are either driving it improperly or the clutch is on its way out the door. And don't take one persons work for the Tex clutches sucking, tons of FI guys are running them and love them.
