I know there is a TSB out there on B Pillar Weatherstrping and wind noise (01-08-58-001) and this is probably a stupid question, but which one is the "B" pillar? Is it the one between the driver's window and the back hatch?
If you've had it fixed, is it an easy fix for the dealer and did it help? I don't have that much faith in my dealer and don't want to risk scratches, etc. for some relatively minor wind noise. Thanks.
Yes, the B pillar is at the trailing edge of the side window glass.(just in front of the rear hatch.
I had mine re-fitted about 3 weeks after purchasing the car and the wind noise was dramatically reduced. There is a screw system that will tighten the contact with the weather strip.
Sorry I can't provide an answer, but can I add a question? What type of noise were you experiencing before the adjustment. My '01 has had an air leak above about 30 mph since driving it off the lot new, and after 3 tries they still haven't gotten it corrected. I'm wondering if this TSB would help? Thanks.
I have the same wind noise and it's driving me NUTS NUTS NUTS. Seems to be coming from the point where the B-pillar meets the top of the door panel. It's not coming from above where the roof panel is. Drove my uncle's 02 coupe and it has the same noise. Tried everything. Even masking taped the door seem, glass seem, gas door, and door handle (plus folded the mirror in). Got in from the other side, drove it----noise was still there. Starting to think this might be an aerodynamic thing. Anyone else had sucess in this matter?

Mine did that too, it turned out that the roof weatherstrip was improperly installed and didn't mate to the targa top correctly, Dealer replaced the weatherstrip for me and the problem was solved. Also, after removing your roof make sure that the weatherstrips mate up properly in the top corner.
Good luck...
