Default ls2 balancer on a ls1?

i was wondering if the ls2 balancer off a 2005 gto will work on a ls1. reason i ask is i can get a new one for free and i need to replace mine.

Well, I have been told that I can re-use my balancer if I build an LS2, so I would figure the reverse is true.

i searched here and ls1tech and i only found one post that someone said it could be swapped as long as its from a gto. i was curious to see if anyone else has done this

That was me. You can use an LS2 GTO pulley on an F-body LS1, but not on a C5. The balancers are different, and your belts will not line up. You can however, use an LS2 C6 balancer with no issues, but why would you want to? Underdrive units aren't very expensive.
