Default Magnecore wires w/ angled boot

Anyone here using the Magnecore plug wires with the angled boots? I bought a set thinking they would clear the LG Pro LTs I just installed (finally...) but just when I thought I was buttoning it all up- I'm having difficulty with getting the wires on I swear this is the last thing I thought I'd get hung up on I know as idiotic as this sounds- I can't get the spark plug wires on. Installing new plugs no prob, cramming those LT's into place was easy compared to getting these *@#$*! wires into place...

The plug end doesn't seem to want to go on. I just can't seem to get them to "click" on and seat fully. The angled boot makes it really hard to get a good grip or any leverage on them for that matter to seat them properly. With the LT's in place, there's even less room to work.

Although I see that the angled boot helps to the clear the headers but I can't get them on! Is there's a trick to these wires?!? I know I'm not very mechanically adept but I managed to get this far and I am 8 wires away from finishing! Maybe I'm just tired and my fingers are cramping... Thoughts?

I just installed a set of them. You will not get the nice click on the spark plug and double click on the coil pack with these wires. (Something to be said for stock, or GMPP Performance wires) Put some Dielectic grease on the boots and give a firm push. On the coil pack side I would only hear/feel a single click. I know the Magnecore wires are good but I like the way the stock wires give a nice positive click when installing. I don't think you have to push so hard. They are probably seated on the plug, you just aren't going to get that positive click when they seat.

Dude.. thank you!!! I thought I was losing my mind... you're right they don't double click on the coil pack side either but I failed to mention that in my original post- it was long enough as is...

I put a dab of di-electric grease on both ends which made the coil end want to pop off even more ... so, I put a tie wrap end into the boot (thanks- Bill Curlee) which made it go on smoother (allowing the air to escape) pulling the tie wrap out obviously once I thought it was seated but I was never sure b/c I never heard the "two" clicks.

I was ready to order a set of GMPP wires but I will give the Magnecores another try this weeknd.

I have the Magnecor race wires with the angled boots on my stock 02. Compared to the challenge of getting the OE wires off, which at 40,000 miles had welded themselves onto the plugs, putting on the Magnecors was a piece of cake. I did get the double click on the coil ends. Initially they did not double click but when I went back and used some patient pressure - voila! I got the second click. On the spark plug end I used a modest amount of grease (too much makes the task harder) and just worked them until I got a solid click. I replaced my stock plugs with NGK iridiums and although my original plugs looked good, I noticed immediately on start up that the car started more quickly and had a very noticeable improvement to the smoothness at idle. I've tried various wires including MSD and Taylor on my C4. I think the Magnecors are a much better wire than any I have used before.

I did not have any trouble with mine either. I got one click on the coil side and one on the plug end. I did use dielectric lube on the plug side. They have been on for two years now no issues. Don
