I recently purchased a canton overflow tank for my 99' C5, part # 80-225. I purchased a 16lb cap for it, I tried to install it today, but the two stock mounting bolts that hold it down aren't nearly tall enough to bolt it down, and it doesn't seem like it's going to fit very well with the stock plastic battery dam. any suggestions?

I hate to hear that! This was on my list to buy when I did my radiator. Do you have any pics of it sitting in the engine bay?
I dont have any pics, but will try to take some, the only way I can see this thing fitting is with removing the plastic battery dam altogether, and fabbing some mounting brackets.

Call Canton and ask why the web site says it is a "direct bolt-in replacement for '97-'04 C-5 Corvette factory coolant expansion/fill tanks"
and why it is, in fact, not a direct bolt-in replacement ...... then get an RMA for the part and send it back ...... vendors that make such claims need to stand up and honor them ....
