Was driving down De Anza Blvd. in Sunnyvale Saturday night following a friend doing about 50mph approaching a major intersection, light turns yellow. I wouldn’t call it a hard stop but we started to brake maybe sixty – seventy feet from intersection, everything was fine then all of a sudden brake peddle went to the floor, had to crank the car to the right to avoid rear ending my buddy, back end breaks loose and I wind up doing a 270 before coming to stop facing the wrong way. Luckily we were in the left lane and no one was behind or on my side. Turns out there are two hydraulic lines with a braided section in the middle, one for the front brakes, one for rear that run between the Active Handling/ABS unit and I think proportioning valve. I blew the front supply line. Car’s a 99 with 175K. I’ve have headers so this may have contributed to the rubber in the braided section’s degradation. Very scary stuff when you have sudden catastrophic brake failure. Even if my crappy e-brake worked there was no time. So just a heads up for you guys, check those two hydraulic lines, #’s 53 and 56. It may save you some real grief.

Thanks for the heads up. My buddy's truck blew a brake line recently too. Checking the brake lines are something we all should do on a regular basis. I inspect mine during oil changes.
