Default wheel sensor/fob transmitter woes

Recently I purchased new motorsport wheels for the car....sensors mounted correctly on the two front wheels but not the two back wheels.... now of course Im getting the "serv.tire.mon sys" and a couple of codes in bo-rfa relating to wheel sensor signal problems... such as c2110 and c2115. Its becoming quite a nuiscance....thought I could deal with the sensor issue but now its throwing the dreaded c1255 code! Is that because of the wheel sensor problem? Car runs great ..no issues. Also if the wheel sensors are down will the keyless entry work on these cars? I may have to go back with the stock wheels and probably just purchase new sensors....confused vette owner

OK ... couple of things to understand.

The car has a radio receiver in it called the RFA (Remote Function Actuator). The RFA receives the radio signals transmitted by the TPMS in the wheels, and also the signals from your key fob(s). I'm keeping it simple here ... but basically the RFA communicates tire pressure data to the IPC, and communicates received signals from the fobs to the BCM which then locks the car doors, for example. The two functions do not interfere with each other, in fact the Z06 has the TPMS function turned "OFF" because the wheels did not come with sensors, but the key fobs work just fine. Further, some Z06 owners have turned on the TPMS function and installed the sensors. If your key fobs aren't working post and that too can be fixed.

C2110 and C2115 show that the RFA is not receiving signals from the two rear sensors ... (duh .... ) ... there are a couple of things you can do to fix this. One is to "band" the sensors inside the rear wheels. Be sure to program them to the car before putting them inside the wheel because you probably won't be able to get a magnet close enough to them for programming after the wheel is inflated.

Bands can be found in many places .... an example .....

Another "trick" that I read of on here is someone got a small pneumatic wheel (like used on a heavy duty handtruck) and put the two rear sensors inside the small wheel, filled it with 30 PSI of air and mounted it in one of the small wells in the trunk of the Corvette ... messages went away (of course they have no idea what the REAL pressures are in the rear tires .... )

I don't understand why you think you need to buy more sensors ?????

On the C1255 ... ouch ... you have a 1999 ..... first thing I'd do is clean the grounds for the EBCM. G103 and G108. The G103 is on the left side frame rail close to the EBCM. G108 is on the frame rail, right side, almost directly below the battery, and very close to the main battery ground.

Clean the grounds .... delete the code .... and hope like heck it is gone for good.
