Default Help with Cam Selection

What do you guys recommend for my C5? I have LS6 Intake, Dynatech LTs with TI exhaust. Also have a 3.73 rear. Car is mostly DD, but will see some Dragstrip action. Driveability is a must. The heads will eventually be changed too. Help please..

224 int, 228 ex dur .581 lift on 114cl XER grind
very common comp cam in a DD C5.
springs and PR are required.
duals

if you want something a little easy on springs
224, 224 .566 lift 114cl (less aggressive ramp rate)
springs and PR required
single or duals

a ported 5.3 head or a milled and ported LS6 head
.040 head gasket
will really pick up the drive (93 octane gas)
205 afr heads would be optimum-milled

cam two 385 -407 RWHP, cam one 410-427RWHP
AFR heads should improve those numbers.

i would go with the first cam.
I have the second cam.

Would that be ok with stock head for now, or should go with a h/c package?

you can do cam and springs only.
(timing chain recommended)
it is cheaper if you are paying for labor to do all of it at one time.
a stage 2 set on LS6 #243 heads or 5.3l are affordable.
I would wait and do it at one time.

check some site vendors
"Texas speed" should have a good price
ex. PRC 220cc 5.3L Stage 2.5 CNC Ported Heads, 1,199.99
