Default C6 Z06 spring questions

I have recently added c6 z06 sway bars to my 2000. I have had -04 z06 shocks in there for a few years now.

I was thinking that maybe I should complete the suspension upgrades and was wondering if C6 Z06 springs can or would fit on a C5. I know that the shocks & sways are a direct bolt on, but are the springs?

Has anyone attempted this mod? Is it a worthwhile swap? Does anyone have a chart listing the spring rate differences between the various suspentions available for the c5/c6?

Sorry if this question has already been asked & answered, I searched but didn't turn up anything.

I have C5 Z06 springs on the way, didn't find anything on C6 either. I did the same sway/shock you did as well.

BTW, I know where you can get a set of C5 for a good price; PM me if interested.

the rear spring on the C6's (all) sit on a solid perch of the lower control arm, much like the front spring. The C5 uses a bolt and bushings that go through lower rear control arm. If you try and install a C6 spring on a C5, there in a hole in the lower control arm where it should be solid for it to mount properly.

unless you go coil overs. I just did the 04 Z06 springs install on my 97 that had the base suspension...I believe you and I were discussing things in similar threads with other members...

The car feels 1000X better after everything is complete- I felt just doing shocks and sways was not going to give me what I wanted out of the car....its amazing how the parts all came together *I used C6 Z51 sway bars)

Look in the parts for sale section for a set of take off Z springs- I got mine almost new for $400. They go for $400 each new.

Anyone know how rough the VB&P Xtreme springs are on the street? I'm picking up a used C5 and want to auto-x it, but it wills till be street driven. Was thinking C5 Z06 springs, or the VBPs.

Thanks,

Jason

Just for the record. I love the search function. I was wondering the same thing about the springs. I want to upgrade the full suspension on my 98 base coupe.

I'll just throw my question on this thread instead of starting a new one maybe it'll help someone else. Hope I'm not highjacking

I want to run:

* C6 Z51 sways with metal endlinks
* C6 Z06 shocks
* Lowered a bit on stock bolts (not going real low)
* C5 Z06 springs (after reading this thread)
* Alignment (after a few days to settle)

Do you guys see any problem with this set-up? (balance, steering, etc)
Are there any bushings that wear out on our cars?
What else is there to fully finish the suspension?

I have read and reread alot of reviews on the different parts. I know its mostly personal opinion. I've just never seen these all together. Also I want to try to stay away from aftermarket parts.

I really like my Hyperco composite springs, race setup for rear, and street setup for the front.

FYI, I believe that C5 Z06 springs are identical to the C5 Z51 springs in the front, and rears are different.

I found this chart somewhere, maybe on this site. When I put Z06 springs on my '97 it dropped at least an inch and rides much stiffer, YMMV. I still have the adjustable (f-45?) shocks though.

Code:
c5z06 frnt:526    rear:714
c5t1   frnt:582    rear:793
c6      frnt:420    rear:657
c6z51 frnt:526    rear:645
c6z06 frnt:531    rear:782
c6t1   frnt:582    rear:850
