OK, so I have a 2004 A4 coupe. Automatic. Doesn't have a column lock. Wheel turns freely when the car is off. So why am I getting a Sevice Column Lock message on the DIC? There are NO codes set... I searched and didn't find anyone else with this issue. I don't seem to have any driveability or shut-down issues along with the message, but there it is when I start the car... Any thoughts?
Should I replace just the relay? The whole harness? Get a CLB? I'm not sure why I would even have this in my car in the first place It seems stupid to get a column lock bypass or anything when I didn't think I had a column lock to begin with...

Since the 2004 auto (2001 and up A4) was not part of the column lock recall (no K-harness). I would more suspect an ignition switch issue.
