Default C5 2003 trans fluid

Hi Corvette lovers

Has any one put synthetic oil in the six speed, the owners manual calls for auto trans oil but how about putting in synthetic trans oil, will it shift smoother?
Also how can I tell the age of my radiator fliud, the car has 49000 miles on it and the owners manual calls for it to be changed at 45000 miles, but to me it looks good. When I bought the car from a dealer it had 45000 miles on it but don't know if it was changed before I got it.

Thanks for your help, Ron

Synthetic trans oil? Yes. Royal Purple Synchromesh is good stuff and it will shift better based on opinions I've read here.
You could use a coolant tester to see if your coolant is still working. It doesn't test for lubricating quality though just temperature thresholds. I would just change it if you're worried about it, but I thought the Dexcool was supposed to last longer than that. Make sure if you're doing it yourself that you don't mix the green stuff with the orange or bad things can happen!
