Does anyone have their radar detector hard wired to the rear view mirror and not down to the BCM area? If so please advise as to which wires to pick up. Thanks in advance.

I hope someone has done this and answers this post. If not, I'll give the hardwire-to-mirror a go myself, but I hate being a pioneer.

I went the BCM area route. It wasn't that hard and wouldn't show any more exposed wiring than wiring to the mirror. Besides, there is wiring provided at the fuse box specifically for accessories that is on its own fuse and thus eliminating the need to cut/splice into wiring that wasn't meant to be cut into.

Under the passenger side floor panel, there is a hot wire tucked inside. Run it where ever!

I went the BCM area route also. Had my mechanic solder for me as he does the prettiest soldering. Pulled the A pillar palstic off and it just doesn't quite line up and look at the othe rside. what's the correct way to reattach the plastic? gotta say 'tho you can't see the thing if you don't know whereto look......

Back to the top, in hope that someone has pioneered it. It looks like this should be straight forward given the rear mirror's location.
