Different KInd of DRL Problem
I know how to replace the bulb.
Please tell me I don't have to take out the assembly and get a new one.
Anyway to get the chips out short of Fichtner?

You have to get the front of the car up and remove the cover just under the DRL.. You'll see the brake duct and of course the light assembly..
You can reach around the duct.. That brake duct is a pain to remove and replace so I'm pass on that..
There are two screws holding the light assm. in, one is a 10 mm, the other is smaller. Remove them and the two bulbs and out comes the light assm...
You'll find that the DRL bulb has "cooked" the holder just about itself and you can reseal that hole with some silicon.
I'd do both sides as the other side is close to having a problem too...
Good luck. The hardest part is getting the car up and blocked.
Will removing the unit allow me to get the shattered amber bits out of the assembly itself? Right now, they're stuck all over the place at the inside front of the clear plastic, and it looks awful from the outside.

Update 1:32 p.m.
Decided to just swap out the bulb, and live with the chips inside the housing.
Too much trouble to jack the car and deal with all that when I've got the old lady hounding me.......
