Hi, im having a problem with my vett,, wonder if any one can help. The car starts and idels with out a problem,, all electronics, lights, everything works.. As soon as i put it in drive or reverse and give it gas, it shuts the car off..I replaced the battery and tested the alternater and there good to go.. I also replaced the Service column lock as the dash indicated,,,,what else can i do? Please help!!!!
Mine did the same thing a few years ago. The DIC displayed "pull key 10 sec" I think it misread the chip in the key, because I've had my collum lock serviced as well. Mine just seemed to go away after two times. I had just replaced the battery.
Mine also says pull key and wait 10 seconds,, i tryed that to,, no luck, ive had 2 guys down to help and go threw the dash and no one can figure it out...

First thing to do whenever your Corvette has ANY kind of problem .... check for DTC posted in the car's computers. Here is the procedure ....
Second, read the sticky at the top of this forum regarding the COLUMN LOCK. Your car will not be driveable until you address this issue ... your PCM will cut off the engine as soon as you reach 2 MPH until this is cleared. The BCM is telling the PCM your column lock is engaged.
The security system kicked in, that's one of the lame A$$ fixes GM did, they removed the lock plate but kept this feature as "SECURITY"-car will start and die above 2mph. Time for a visit to the dealer then a CLB.
