I have a 2000 and have a chance to buy 2001 chrome rims complete with new tires and TPS sensors. I have been told 01 sensors will not work on 00 car. Curious if anyone knows this to be true or not.

Thanks

They will NOT work. sensors are grouped (1997 - 2000) and (2001 - 2004)

If you really love the wheels, you could find a good deal on an '01-'04 RFA reciever and matching late model keyfobs, and then you would have the whole system converted to the '01-'04 stuff( which use a different freq than the '97-'00). Otherwise you will have to swap sensors if you want the system to work on your '00. Keep in mind your '00 sensors are probably only a year or so away from needing to be replaced because of batteries. Figure your costs both ways, if you really have to have those wheels, you'll figure out a way!

If the 01 wheels that you're looking at are the GM polished thin spokes, inspect them very carefully for cracks at the base of the spokes. There have been several reports of this defect occuring on 01-04 GM high polished wheels.

I recently discovered cracking in two places on my left rear wheel, and have since replaced them with C6 wheels and new tires.
