I talked to Rodney at RPM Trans about this last summer when I was getting my Trans done on my Coupe. His opinion was that the MN6 is much better suited for Drag Racing, but I forget his explanation...however since RPM knows their stuff and specializes in Trans, I tend to follow their advice.
You might want to give them a call
after talking to numerous people your right. the MN6 is better for the 1/4. will definetly be making the swap.
The MAN6 is almost always a better choice for the 1/4. With the LMNOP12 either the 1-2-3 spacing is great for your setup and the 3-4 is way off, or the 3-4 is great for your setup and the 1-2-3 aren't. The MNM6 provides more consistent ratios.

Hey
STUPID
I've already explained in an above post ... there is no MN6 transmission .... you either have an M12 or an MM6 ........... MN6 is the "provision" for a manual transmission (it means a clutch pedal and master cylinder get installed in the car) ...... you already have RPO MN6 installed if you have a manual .....

thanks. i already spoke with a vendor out of houston and they will be doing the rebuild with the MM6 ratios.

That's some funny S$%T right there, I don't care who you are.
As SDPC points out, the #6 or #12 is all we need to know in order to discuss this question on transmissions. Knowing precise RPO codes or GM lingo might not be our top priority....
Blackz06, thanks for your efforts to keep us "accurate".....but once us usually enough. If people don't learn after that, posting 50 times isn't going to change them. Heck, there are still people typing in all caps with no punctuation....you think you'll get THEM to change?
