Default all but 1 problem seems to be fixed

The traction, gauges etc. are working fine since replacing the battery. But I am still getting high voltage intermittenly. When I say high..16volts reading on the gauge, but the dic hasnt displayed. Its not always like that, just does it when it feels like it. Is there anything but the alternator that would allow this?

Yes, the starter connection (red wire from battery to starter) can have a burned or loose connection and you'll see that symptom. I have seen it on two cars, both had headers running near the starter, but that isn't necessarily responsible. There is a lot of heat from the exhaust on the starter. Check the nut on the starter post to make sure it's clean and tight. Disconnect the battery before you put a wrench on that nut, it's hot all the time..

been my problem since ive had it back from the dealer for a clutch install. If you reach down in there follow the red cable from the battery and see if there is any play in the connection. I almost welded a wrench last night trying to fix mine forgetting to disconnect the battery before hand.

Put a meter on the battery and verify the voltage while its running and hopefully when the DIC says high voltage. The first thought is the alternator has problems but I read in here somewhere that the PCM itself might be commanding the charge rate even though I think that might be a bit strange. Bill Curlee might have some more valueable information so you might wish to send him a PM just in case.

Have you checked, cleaned, tightened all the grounds? One of the main Battery grounds is on the Fame rail below the Battery. Also check the grounds on Left Frame rail beside the Alternator and on the Passenger side Frame Rail close to the Belt Tensioner.
