Guys: I have an '03 coupe. So far I have an X pipe with Corsa Indy installed. Would like to get 50 or more horse if possible. Can you guys recomend what's next. Would like to keep it 1500- 2000.00 if possible. I will need to have the work done since I am not real godd with tools. Is intake with chip next?your time and suggestions are very much appreciated.
This is an easy one. Do an intake and a set of LTs. Hopefully you can reuse your xpipe and get yourself a tune. 50hp is very possible and your fuel economy will go up with a good street tune. I personally recomend the vararam b2 intake and prob your choice of good headers (Kooks, LGs, AR, TSP. etc).
I'd look into a good cam intake, and a tune, possibly the headers but headers are gona eat a good portion of your budget if not more of it after someone installs them.

Headers, Mild Cam and a Tune will get you 50 rwhp. Make sure you think through how you are going to use the car and what amount of trade off you can live with for idle and driveability before you spec out your cam.
I have an 03 Coupe. I have added a VaraRam, AR Headers, X-pipe, 3:42 gears and Corsa Touring catbacks. I was a little dissapointed in the performance of the stock Coupe. After I installed the mods above, it is a totally different car. ...
I did essentially the same mods as bluefire, much happier with car. Can't do all of these mods for $2000 though. You can come close to getting a vararam and LT headers for 2K. With a tune should net you 40 to 50 hp.

You will get ~50hp on the road, (~30 on the dyno) from a Vararam CAI and a professional tune, as well as better gas mileage (~2-4mpg) and better throttle response. Will cost you no more than $900 including tax, about $1000-$1100 if you have someone else install the Vararam. No question this is what I would do if I had a grand to spend on my car and already had a Cat-back.
I notice you live in CA like I do, so be careful if you go with the LT. There's a thread up right now about how some people in CA are getting away with LTs at smog tests. Others switch to a stock setup for the test and then switch back. Shorty headers won't free up as much hp, but at least they're still lighter than the stock exhaust manifold and are easier to install.
