Dude that's not it at all. Nobody said a thing about anything concerning price, quality, etc. with regards to the OP's headers and cam. I made a joke, which was not well taken, about spinning that tires.....that's it.
Truth is, I could not give a rats azz how another forum member chooses to spend their money on THEIR car.
I will just have to remind myself that some guys are more sensitive than others, and I should use caution with how(and who) I joke around with, and to not hurt anyones feelings.
It's not as bad anymore since a lot of the old C5 'uppity' crowd is moving on to the C6. C5s are as cheap as newer Accords and Civics, so more of the budget gangsters like us that came from Stangs/F-Bods, etc can afford these cars and are looking for the best bang for the buck.
Unfortunately best bang for the buck usually equates to performance parts made in China. ARH header systems don't incorporate a Corvette tax.
U.S. made S/S plus U.S. labor equals a system that will absolutely cost more but as far as I'm concerned, will pay off big in quality and longevity.
BTW, to the original poster, glad you like your headers.
This will forever be an ongoing argument...didnt mean to stir up so much crap Like i said before, the thread is for those that were considering getting the headers or hot cam. Im looking forward to getting some 1/4 mile times with the combo...then i can start another argument! Happy motoring
Did you install just the cam or did you also do springs, rods, oil pump, timing chain, etc? What are the specs on the cam, and how much rwhp does it add?

Cam and springs were both changed. I didnt change anything else. I kept the stock timing chain and oil pump because my car has relatively low miles. Pushrods arent critical with the cam either because of the relativly low lift and single coil valve springs.
LSA 112, 218/227 Duration, 525/525 Lift thats the cams specs and i picked up 40 rwhp
I did the headers prior to the cam. When i installed the cam it picked up another 40rwhp. Total is 381hp/371tq to the rear which was done on a mustang dyno

A Hot Cams base circle is only about .025 inch smaller than a stock LS1 cam so yes you can use all the valve train over again except the springs if you want to........

I'm sure your ARH headers are great, but these SSAC headers are great as well. They are made right here in the USA (Georgia) using the same material and thickness and your headers. But speaking of China, 99% of the Corvette aftermarket is made there anyway (almost every wheel, interior/engine bay accessories), but nobody calls them out for some reason.
Ryan, I guarantee you with 100% certainty they are made overseas. The dead giveaway is the price. I'm not sure about interior items but when it comes to performance parts that are Chinese sourced, there's little to be desired. Run those products for a period of time and you'll see what I mean.

Ryan said it all right here in this post. Yes SS headers if they are fitting properly are a great bang for the buck. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you are on a solid budget and really have no room this is a good buy. When I first bought them I was doing about $4K worth of mods and was trying to save where I could. My experience was not so good but ONCE it was all handled they sounded and worked great. My new system went in like a dream but came with a price tag. Many here hate on Ebay and always want to support the vendors but there are other sources. SS headers are pretty and like I mentioned if fitment issues are resolved a good buy.
These cars will do it to you. I swore after my last bit of mods I was done and that was in Mar. Needless to say I am dropping the car off at the tuner Sat. for a RPM Stage IV diff with all upgrades, suspension, New clutch/flywheel, and a new tune. HAHA When will it end???
