Vararam Report
Had a good chance to try out my Vararam this week. With about 600 miles on it around town, I left for the Wildwood car show Thursday.
Had lots of good highway driving with plenty of rain mixed in. My C5 performed well as usual, but I always questioned the possible effect of water entering into the intake.
Having followed this site on the issue, I was not concerned about the engine dying out, or "hydro-lock", but more so the washing effect of the filter element. Today, Sunday I opened it up for a look see.
I have the later K&N type filter and was happy to see it in great shape.
The lower part had some moisture on it but the filter was pretty clean and still appeared to be red and well oiled.
Soon, the next test at Island Dragway. Looking to break into the 12's, even a little. Did 13.2 @ 108 last summer.

You'll love your Vararam. You better have front screens in place or your asking for trouble. Exhaust system,Vararam and Hurst were my first mods, all done at the same time. Car went through the traps @ 11.9 Oh by the way at the same time I put the Vararam on I also installed their Velocity stack . There has been alot of snake oil chatter in regards to this stack. I figure it like this, it runs strong w/ it, so I'm not about to take it off. Stock motor also dyno'd on a Mustang@406 RWHP. Good luck.
