Default The Mole Performance Poll

OK..................here's the story................. I have a 97 a4 with 3.42 gears, Yank Stealth converter, maf ends, Pro Flo lid
,relocated mat sensor, nitto drag radials and B&B cat back. I got a 1.85 sixty foot with a time of 13.35, 13.39, & 13.38. With a trap speed of 105. Fifty degree weather.
This was my first time at a 1/4 mile track at Tulsa, I usually run at a 1000 foot track. My times seem slow compared to others, What do you think.
.......................so what do you think?

With a good 60' like 1.85, his car is a tortoise! :( :(

I ran a 13.3 before headers at 2900 ft.

There may be a problem.

I just ran 12.35 @ 110.74 with very similar mods, you have a few more things.

I got a 1.70 60' even if you backed me down to 1.85 and my ET would have been 12.70 or so.

What about humidity and barometric pressure, do you know those?

Do you have any tuning done?

As I said in the other post, it is my car, hbut I had to log in under my friends name, because mine wouldn't work.
Anyway,
West Coast, the engine temp was 200 to 207 and the outside temp was in the 50's.
Thanks,
shawn

Well, it's probably time for a MAF Translator and a Scan Ease program.

shawn,
the high coolant temp is one possibilty. I have seen cars dyno at 319 rwhp @ 205 deg. coolant temp and 375+ @ 179 deg. coolant temp. Same car same day, same dyno.
Good luck.

Thanks West Coast. By the way, I am enjoying the gears and I bought them from West Coast Corvettes!

I would say your car is suffering from something.

It should be quicker.

Haven't seen you since we met up at Mike Norris' in Orlando. Should have let Mike do some workin on that baby. I think it needs some check up. I am still waiting on Steve Cole to send back my PL so I can get the on running as it should. In the meantime, I got the Ease scan tool...ran a trace and found I had tons of knock. Hoping that the PL will correct that, however, I am getting the MAFT to tweak it up. Come this way and we'll hooker to Ease and find out what you need. :yesnod:

With a 60' time like yours and a final trap speed of 105, it sounds like you are hurting just a little at the top end. It would interesting to see what your HP and torque curve would look like on a dyno.

Ouch! Could be better - get that thing scanned with ATAP or something at the very least.
Off the top, might want to ditch the relocated MAT sensor and MAF ends. Also, how are the shifts - could be a tranny issue and does anyone have any info on the yank stealth converter - it may be hurting instead of helping...
