Re: Difference between MAS ends and GMS Mas? (Phil97SVT)
Neither one will get you anything except maybe manipulating the AFR ratio, but there are better ways of doing that! The MAF is not a bottle neck in the stock intake tract.
Good Luck,
Re: Difference between MAS ends and GMS Mas? (Phil97SVT)
Ditto to what Chris said...and I'll add:
GMS reprograms the electronics as well as putting on larger ends. Their programming has been proven to be very inconsistent, you could get a good one or a bad one. Also, their MAS is considered a way to fix a lean condition but you'd be better off with a MAFT and Autotap for that. You'll be able to dial it in exactly where you want it with that combo instead of dealing with a fixed setting with the GMS.
By the way here is an excerpt from Chief GM Powertrain Engineer, John Juriga regarding the 385 HP LS6 in an interview with Hib Halverson.
""The other changes for the LS6 are the higher-capacity mass air flow (MAF) sensor from the 6.0-liter, Gen III truck engine. It’s worth 2-3hp and its integral intake air temperature (IAT) sensor simplifies the engine controls and reduces cost."
