Default half-shaft Axles issues

Before I start telling you what is going on I want to give you a little background on the car.

Car is a 02 Z06 with 30K on the trip. Car makes just over 600rwhp. I have a DTE brace on the car and the clutch is a OZ700 (textralia). Oh, the car is one Nitto DR's.

Well about a year ago I took my car to the "Dyno Drags" where you actually run your car on a dyno to get the ET and 1/4 mile times. Well shortly after that I noticed the rear end was leaking a little. After checking it out we found the center section side of the driver side axles was cracked and when it cracked it expanded thus causing the seal to leak. I figured this happend launching the vette on the dyno rollers.

So we replaced the axles and poof the leak was gone. Since then I have only raced the car once on the bottle (and from a roll, no stops on slicks). Over the winter I noticed the car was leaking gear lube again from the same side. I just figured the seal was leaking due to not installing it correctly or whatever. NOPE, damn axle is broke again and in the same place (splines on the center section side of the axle).

When we called the dealership to order another one they day they have sold a few in the past and have heard of them breaking like this.

Is this normal? Is there something on the install we are doing wrong? There really doesnt seem to be anything crazy in doing this job. Buying a axle everytime I roll into the throttle doesnt really sound fun to me.

Let me know your thoughts and if anyone else has had this issue.

Almost forgot, I have a DTE hardend shaft on that side as will.

I guess when you get tired of it, replace the axles with some DTE or Lingenfelter hardened ones.
Side note: I thought O'fallon was in Illinois. I spent the summers there in 1977,8

That's a boo boo. It seems that nobody makes an aftermarket half shaft. Maybe you could send yours off to be hardened and cryo'd
