Cv Joints On A C5??
I Need A Quick Answer On This If I Can Get One.
I Dropped My 04 Off At My Dealer For Service. Writer Called Me To Say That During The Service They Noted That The Cv Boot Had Been Cut Open And Was Throwing Grease.
I Didnt Know That The Corvettes Used Cv Joints. My C4 Had U Joints On The Inside And Outside Of The Impeller Shafts.
Do C5's Have Cv Boots??

Yep, actually a inner and an outer CV joint. You can find whole remanufactured axel half shafts for less than rebuilding, like $70 from rockauto.com.
Its a big job replacing anything on the CV joint. A bit of the rear suspension on that side needs to be removed to get to it. Labor will be the biggest part of the bill.

You have to do the same amount of work to remove and install the axle that you would have to do to remove the axle, replace the CV joint and reinstall the axle.

Thanks To All For The Information. I Went Down To Look At The Car On The Rack. There Was A Small Tear In The Outer Boot On The Pass Side. Grease Was Thrown Into The Wheel Well. Cost 250 To Replace.
