Default Targa Top Possible Crack

Hi Guys,

I have been searching the forum for a while now looking for a solution to my problem. In the upper right hand corner of my clear targa top it appears there is about an inch crack forming. When you touch it on the top you can feel the indentation but when you try to feel it from the bottom you can not feel anything at all. I don't think the top is glass but more of a plastic so i'm apprehensive about putting windshield crack repair on it. I know that with plastic glass on aircraft we will drill a hole to stop the crack from spreading. Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem?? There might be beer involved. (you would have to drive to my neck of the woods)!!

I would drill it. It's already cracked. You might try some trimethylene chloride in the crack too. Some people call it acrylic weld. You can get it from a local plastics house. Use a syringe to apply it to the crack. It will soak in and chemically melt the plastic. when the chemicals evaporate, it should be bonded back together. The visual part obviously will still be there, but it should hermetically seal it.
