Default long tube headers

Should I get LG streets or Texas speed long tubes and why?

Cats of no cats?

go LG pros or Kooks,
the TSP headers are good i hear, but they are of lesser quality, and it shows in the price they sell for. nothing wrong with them, they just arent going to have as good of fitment and finish as the LG's, thats all.

up to you on the cats, taking cats off is 'illegal'....haha.
keep in mind that when you get it inspected they can fail you on not having them. i'd only take them off if you know someone that can hook you up or your trying to squeeze every little bit of HP out of it.
the random tech cats flow well, and only loose a few HP at most, so thats an option.

also, no cats, and LT's will definately increase your cars volume, alot, and if you have stingers, xr1's, ect, then its gonna be LOUD! to me thats a plus, but deter others.

LG's seem to have a better reputation regarding performance or at least they seem to be more popular. Don't expect any negligible performance differences. You could always go with the old adage " all things being equal go with the lesser price" Don't know if they're customer service is equal though. I have dealt with Tx Speed and they have always been great. Have met the guys at LG and they were nice as well, but I didn't do any business with them.

few things i've seen with the TSP headers:
-saw a post with the 02 bungs being at a weird spot leaving the user to have to cut a bit of clearance out of undercarraige sheetmetal.
-have seen some fitment issues occasionally
-are ceramic coated, they look nice, but theres some theory on if coated are actually worse than non because they keep the heat inside the header longer, ect.

i think they've had a few revisions of them, so theres probably some things that have been fixed, but just giving you a heads up on the stuff i've seen since they have come out.

*in no way trying to knock TSP!, have heard nothing but positive things about the company! just comparing product.

There have been posts on poor fitment of TSP headers. Personally, after hearing one persons hassles on installation of the headers, I would choose one of the premium brands. As far as cats ot no cats, get cats installed, no question. Why have a smelly car? Besides, there is very little HP to be had by deleting the cats.

Default Decissions, Decissions!

Geeze, Go w/ LG long tube PRO's, LG x pipe,hi flow cats or no cats, and Ti catback or BB Bullet catback. Now you're all done, no muss no fuss and much torque and H.P.Great fitment and the best quality. There was a used set of all the mentioned parts here on the forum, resently. Really, if you check the different posts, you will see which and who are going w/ the better set ups. That how I came to my decission. Good luck!

I've seen posts where people have had fitment issues with the TSP headers regarding the air tube connections and O2 sensor bungs hitting the tunnel plate. I installed a set of LG Street headers on my own Z and they fit right first time, no adjustments needed. Price is fair and their customer service is top-notch. I highly recommend them. As far as running cats, the high flow cats will only lose about 2-3 hp total and you keep your car legal without any emission hassles. With the street headers, the entire exhaust system is polished stainless. Hooked up to my Magnaflow catback exhaust, my car sounds fantastic. It has a deep rumble at idle and really sounds great when you get on it. At cruise, it's pretty mellow and not loud if you want to listen to tunes.

I like the dynotech's myself. Similar to the LG's in length for low end grunt.

Great fit with all of the correct hook-ups. Unless you like the smell of gas get the cats, plus if you ever want to sell your car you'll have to correct this as it won't pass emissions.

I personally prefer Kooks. Makes better power where you need it.

But if I had to pick between the two I would go with LG. Better quality product.

???
LG's make more power under the curve than Kooks.
thus why more drag racers use the Kooks for the top end power they put out, and autocrossers and road racers use the LG"s.

Although this topic gets as drawn out as a tire topic. I like to go by personal experience as well what popular vendors are installing like ECS or such which are using AR.
