Default Headlight "stop" adjustment?

I've been having a devil of a time getting my headlights aimed properly, and after moving each lamp through the entire range of motion I realized that my pass side light -- the whole assembly -- sits about 1/2 higher (and thus at a slightly different angle) than the driver's side light. If I turn the manual headlight up/down **** a few turns down it brings the pass side light back down to the proper position relative to the driver's side. So is there any way to stop the passenger side light assembly from rising up quite so high? Is there an adjustable "stop" point in the assembly?

Hi below are the instructions, both in text and image.
Good Luck

Headlamp Opening Door Adjustment
Remove the headlamp opening door. .
For horizontal adjustment:
Loosen the headlamp intermediate bracket to headlamp assembly screws (1).
Adjust the position of the headlamp intermediate bracket (3) as required and retighten the retaining screws (1).

Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten
Tighten the headlamp intermediate bracket screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

For vertical adjustment: Tighten (to lower) or loosen (to raise) the vertical adjusting screws (2) as needed.
For headlamp opening door stop position adjustment, if necessary: Tighten or loosen the door stop adjustment screw as needed.
Install the headlamp opening door. Refer to Headlamp Opening Door Replacement .
Inspect the fit of the headlamp opening door to the hood, the fender and the front fascia.
If the fit of the headlamp opening door is unsatisfactory, repeat steps 2 through 7.

Thanks, bestvettever -- I really appreciate the great reply. Unfortunately, my issue is that the whole headlight assembly (brackets, lamp itself, and cover) come up too high (relative to the other side). When they're down they're both flush with the hood and fender and look fine. But when up the passenger side goes up a bit more than the driver's side. I need to figure out if I can stop the headlamp motor a little sooner.

Yes you can.
Tighten or loosen the door stop adjustment screw as needed.
It'l be a screw along the side of the assembly that limits the motion of the bucket.
Edit- Depending where they line up with the front facia, you may want to let the dr side come up a bit more.
