Default electrical problems

Happy memorial day weekend folks. I need some help with a new purchase of mine. 2000 convert.--I have one annoying issue...Every time I start the car the drivers side seat moves all the way forward. This drains the battery while not being driven. Also the abs idiot light comes on then the traction control failure comes up, fainlly the low tire pressure indicator comes on as well. When you shut the car down, they will clear for a bit, then come back. Need some experienced help. Thanks Bob

Well a good start would be to fill out your profile.

If you have the memory option on your vehicle, your seat may be programmed for the easy access.

Go to your manual section 2-99 for 2001 and look up DIC Options.

Turn off easy access option.

* The LOW TIRE indicator is coming on because ... gee ... guess what ... YOU HAVE A LOW TIRE on the car .... check all 4 tires with a pressure gauge ... one of them is low or "flat" ..... RUNFLAT tires never ever "look" flat ... which is why the monitor is there.

* Checck for DTC data to learn why the ABS "idiot" light is coming on ... go here for instructions ... post ALL the DTC data listed and someone can help diagnose it ....

* As posted above ... the seat moving is part of your MEMORY option on the car ... it is "normal" and does NOT drain your battery. Your car uses electrical power even when shut "OFF" ... the BCM controls the security system and the RFA is "awake" waiting for a key fob signal to unlock the vehicle. It is not unusual for a Corvette to run the battery down after 2 or more weeks of being parked.
