Default Low Pressure Port for AC Adding Freon

I have 1997 C5 and the AC is low on Freon. I would like to add the freon myself and was wondering if anyone can point me to the low pressure port where I can connect the hose and the freon can to for the addition. Pics would be perfect. Thanks.

There is one port by the battery and one by the radiator. They are different sizes. If you purchased a re-fill kit, it should only fit one port. You will need confirmation, but I believe your low pressure port is the one on the passenger side by the radiator. It's that way on my 02. I hope you're adding 134a or compatible refrigerant and not freon.

If you have lost refrigerant you have probably also lost PAG oil from the system.

You should STRONGLY consider having a professional shop work on the system. The leak needs to be located and fixed, and the system then needs to be charged with the correct amounts of PAG oil and R134a refrigerant.

The port by the radiator is the HIGH pressure side. The low pressure port is by the firewall next to the battery.
