C6 Zo6 Shifter In C5

C6 Zo6 Shifter In C5
I purchased a c6zo6 shifter from a member here on the forum. I assumed it was a complete setup. It was the angled shifter handle with shift ****. It doesnt have the bottom piece attatched to it. Is this bottom piece the same as the stck c5 unit? It looks the same in the pics I have seen. I know it will fit, but am wondering if I would be better off buying a complete new unit. I want to get the most possible benifit from installing the new shifter. Guess I should have bought it new in the first place. Any info would be apreciated. Thanks

Hi.. I installed a complete C6 Z06 shifter assembly in my 00 coupe and the difference is quite noticable from the stock C5 unit... I don't think you'll get the full beneift(if any) form installing just the C6 Z06 handle..

There is a difference................
The C6 Z06 shift box you are referring to mounts more more solidly than the C5. The C6 Z06 has hard plastic bushings and the C5 has rubber bushings[IMG]
[/IMG] DO NOT look at the shift handel assembles in the picture!!! The shift box on the left is the C6 Z06 . Take note that the two top mounting , located on each end of the shift box are lower than the C5 Z06 on the right. All this does is give you a firmer feel. The two boxes are indentical in everyother way.
