Default What should my expectations be?

I have a 99 FRC with a Magnaflow x-pipe and Cat Back, and K&N FIPK, I met with Jeremy Formato, and here is what we are doing

Dynatech LT's with catted X-pipe
LS6 Intake
Ported TB
Comp Cam 228/232? (specs aren't exact yet)
And a Dyno Tune

What do you realistically think my results should be. I want 400 rwhp, but more realistically, I want a nice useable powerband, and don't really care about peak numbers. I know Heads are in the future, but this fit my budget for now. Any thoughts?

Your current setup probably puts down 300 or so I'm guessing. Long tubes and xpipe add around 25rwhp, the intake around 10rwhp, not sure on the throttle body, but wouldn't imagine more than 5-10wrhp. I'm looking at a very similar cam (228/232 .581/.591 112LSA) and COMP predicted 25-30rwhp. Lastly, I got 10rwhp out of my dyno tune.

So depending on the type of dyno you're using and if it simulates inertia and load, you'll either be around 20rwhp away or you'll be right at 400 to the ground.

That cam will definately help provide you a solid powerband, which is the main reason I'm going with the specs I listed. I wouldn't go a whole lot bigger on the cam specs without flycutting pistons and a few top end parts.

Sounds like a fun project! I'll be interested to see how it turns out for ya.

Yeah, that is the same cam from what I can remember without the specs directly in front of me, but the list and lsa sound right. I guess, I should be getting exactly what I am expecting. Since when does that happen?

My guess is ~390rwhp.

I hear ya. Vettes are rather predictable. At least in most respects. If you called COMP and asked them to spec out the best possible cam for you, thats probably pretty similar if not exactly what they gave you... thats where I got it.

I'd say around 385 RWHP. If you up the cam you will hit your goal. Good luck.

Sounds reasonable to me too. If you stay NA and don't go NO2, I'd say your goal of 400 RWHP won't be met without changing to higher flowing cylinder heads too.

My guess is that guessing is pointless.

Guessing actually is pointless, which is why I am acting the hundreds of people on here that have done, seen, had, and researched incredibly similar combos, but hey, Thanks
