I'm having a problem with my passenger window. I've already replaced the relay module in the door and I can hear the relay's clicking. I've checked all my fuses and I am left to believe that the problem is with the motor itself.
Has anyone else had this problem, and is there something else (perhaps not as complicated) that could be the cause?
It doesnt look like replacing the window motor is going to be very easy, so Im wishing there was something else.
On a good note, while I had the doors apart I managed to fix both of my mirrors, following some excellent directions on this forum. I managed to get some 1/2" hollow bolts in there to hold the springs tight, and now both mirrors are great. And I replaced the relay modules in both doors, which corrected my door lock and an intermittent driver's window problems. All thats left is to get the passenger window working, and my baby is as good as new.
ok so in between the last post and this one, I took out the motor and opened it up. Turned it a few times, wiped some soot off the inside and then put it back in. And it works! All fixed. Really not too difficult at all.
Don't be too sure....My experience is that once the motors start to mess up, you may be able to get them to work for awhile, but eventually you will need to replace the whole assembly.
I even had one that I though the motor was working fine, outside the car, then when we put it back in, it worked a few times and quit again.
The motors seem to always look good, but they just quit working.
I finally replaced both regulator assemblies, and have not had any more problems.
