Mine has been doing the same thing lately. I noticed it at Cruise Inn while we were going through the hills and the trees on both sides allowed the sound to reflect. I'm very curious as well.
Diagnosing an unheard noise is a little difficult across the internet .....
Open the hood on your car and have someone slowly raise the engine RPM while you CAREFULLY listen for "noises". The engine doesn't need to be at redline .... 2,000 to 3,000 RPM should be fine .... CAUTION ... beware of moving engine parts and the fans which can (and will) start unexpectedly.
If the noise doesn't happen that way .... take the car somewhere open and safe (maybe a large parking lot) and try the following .... get car to speed where you hear the squeak .... put vehicle in NEUTRAL and turn OFF engine ..... WARNING ... your column MAY lock ...... see if with vehicle rolling you can still hear the squeak. Brake to a stop ... then restart the engine.
If you hear a squeak while rolling (engine off) first thing I'd check is the front brake pads ... they may be down to the "wear sensors" which squeak when the car is rolling along ... they won't squeak or squeal when the brakes are applied (so apply the brakes ... if the noise goes immediately away .... 99 percent is your pads are worn out).
