ok looking at this cam, input on to big for this set-up?
98, m6, 40k, stock heads, ls6 intake, ported throttle, corsa x-pipe,bb exhaust, no headers. i know probably need headers right? Is it to big or to to much lift for stock heads? im buying new pushrods and double springs also. here is the cam.
230/236 591/601 on a 112\\
That is a fairly aggresive cam--deff. will need some tuning to get it to run properly-- at idle and part throttle--headers would be a must to get optimum performance--also it won't pass emmisions-so if it's required where you live be ready for a battle- The stock LS1 valves may be aweful heavy with that much lift/duration and could cause premature failure-LS6 type valves are lighter for this reason-Ti retainers would help lighten the weight--ALso I'd get a new chain and timing gears--If you're
looking for all-out power--then go for it--just be prepared to change springs every year or so-- BUT it it is a daily driver and you are more interested in longevity but with some extra HP--try something milder--My choice would be something like .228/.232 @ 112---lift around .550 to .575
The main issue with cam selection is to be brutally honest with yourself on what you're willing to live with for trade offs. Big cams make great HP and are fine for the strip but they leave much to be desired in stop and go traffic.
