A Dyno Question
Just about every weekend I watch Spike TV and one of the automobile shows will feature an engine rebuild. Once the mechanics get through with the build, they roll the engine into the dyno room, hook it up, and crank that puppy into the high RPM range.
After reading many owners manuals for cars and other guides to engines, a break in period is always advised.
What are the effects of running a brand new engine wide open in this manner? My thought is it can't be good for the engine.
Your thoughts?
My thoughts is that they edit a LOT fo time out and that they do break in running before they flog the motor. Even then I don't think it is condusive for a long life for the motor,,but it's not their money or motor!!
