I just received a set of Corvette Garage Z07 wheels. They look great, and the website says that they "work with factory TPM sensors". I took them to the tire shop today to get them mounted and the tire shop said that they couldn't install the factory sensors because the sensors need to sit against a flat surface and these Z07 wheels apparently have a recessed area under the valve stem hole.
You can get mounting brakets that wrap around the inner wall of the rim and the sensor will mate to that instead of having it be actually used as the valve stem.
Hi Garrett - sounds like you have a 1997 thru 2000 corvette.
If that is the case all you need to do is change the o-ring on the sensor stem. A #9 o-ring from Lowe's or Home Depot will do the trick. We do this often at my shop in Columbus, Ohio.

Thanks a ton guys, especially Lloyd. That is exactly what I ended up doing this afternoon. I grabbed a bunch of #9 O-rings from Home Depot and took it to a better tire shop. They got it all done up with no problem.
As for the Corvette Garage Z07 wheels.... I went with 18x9 on the front and 19x11 on the back with a 1/4 in spacer on the back as well. I took a bit of time and painted the calipers and brake discs, and the result is awesome. These wheels look really good on the car. The only thing left to do is to order some center cap decals off of eBay.
I'd post pictures, but it has been pouring rain here all day and I don't want to get the car dirty. I will take some and post them as soon as the sun breaks through.
Honestly, I only put the spacers in there because I had them lying around the garage from my 71' Olds Cutlass, and thought it would look good to push them out a bit more. The factory studs re long enought for the 1/4" spacer, but I wouldn't go any wider.
With all that said, I am still having problems that may require me to take those spacers out anyways. Can anyone confirm that I need to put "rings" around the hubs to center the wheel on the car? Right now the wheels are balanced perfectly on the machine, but are not running smoothly on the car. Also, does anyone know what size ring that I will need?
Thanks again,
Garrett
Also, I would love to post a few pictures if someone can please explain how the hell to do it!!
Calgary,
I think you're looking for hubcentric rings. You will need to know the wheel centre bore diameter. Do a search on the web and you'll find them or PM me. Take care,
