Just wondering if before I send it in for a rebuild if I couldn't just take it apart and check it myself? I was told there is an internal relay that is usually the cause of all the problems?

I haven't opened one as there are no (that I've seen) diagrams of the internals. I'm guessing Brandon at absfixer did a lot of testing of a couple of boards (or more) to figure out how it works and which parts are failing. Also, even Brandon can only fix a limited number of EBCM failures ... I understand if you have a C1255 or C1256 he can't fix it.
I'd just send it in .... unless your time is "cheap" I suspect it will take a while to figure out what to replace ..... that's a computer in there .... and a pretty sophisticated one. I doubt it is a couple of chips on a board.

Thanks, I'd read there was a relay inside that was common to go out.
I believe Bill Curlee did a pretty good write up with pics on it some time ago. I seem to remember a couple of others with pics that had cut the RTV sealant out for show and tell. I may have it saved, I'll have a look when I get home from the salt mine. None outline any repair but will give a look see at the innards
You could try a search of BC posts or EBCM or EBTCM. Gonna be a lot of threads to go thru tho.
