What's Inside An Output Shaft?

Is it a CV joint or a universal joint? There's a lot play in one of the joints... should I just replace the whole thing? The metal clamps are a bitch to get off. Just though I might ask before.

Well if it is the cv joint axle i would replace the hole thing they are not that hard to do and not that expensive. do you no what side it is

ya its the left output shaft... i have it out sitting on the workbench

St. Jude Donor '08-'09-'10-'11-'12-'13-'14-'15-'16

They (there are two) are CV joints. If you don't know what you're doing, I would agree with Banshee6.

well ya I'm gonna either take it to a shop or just replace the whole thing... but just wanted to know

...and does anyone know where to pick up an assembled output shaft?

...went to gmpartshouse and it had everything broken up seperately

...like a small u-joint. Just replace the whole shaft.
