I am looking for new pads. I do about 5 autox or HPDE per year. It is not a daily driver. I put on 5k per year. I will be the using stock rotor or the basic zinc drilled ones. What you you guys recommend?

Stick with the OEM pads. I have run ceramic, Hawk carbon metallic and the OEM and for what you are doing, the OEM pads are the best bang for the buck.

Go take a look over in the autocross/road racing section. Might need to use the search function, but this topic is discussed a lot over there.

I have had the GM ceramics, Hawk HP+ and the Hawk HPS on the car with sport rotors and stock calipers.

I like the HPS's. The HP+'s stop really well but way to much dusting for me. Just my experience, hope this helps a little.

First, DO NOT use drilled rotors for an HPDE .... they are probably a poor idea for an Auto-X ..... they will crack because drilled rotors cannot stand the stress of being heated to high temperature and then rapidly cooled as happens at an HPDE.

Depends to some degree on the track you are running at ..... I can run the stock Z06 pads at Willow Springs .... but I will get brake fade after three laps with those same pads at Laguna Seca.

The Hawk pads are an excellent choice. The Hawk HPS (High Performance Street) pads are about the same as the Z06 pads. The next step up in performance are the HP Plus pads. Yeah, they do dust more, and are prone to squealing when cold, but work great on the track. If you REALLY need performance Hawk offers other pads .... but they are really "track only" pads ... they actually need a lot of heat to work well and you just can't get a that kinda heat driving on the street ...

see.....

for more info on their pads ....
