What would be a good cam to get without any mods other than air filter and long tube headers? I'd like to increase power, but I want it to be a mild increase and throughout the rev range, not mostly in the high RPMs.
My choice, the MMS 218 duration, is mild enough that it works well with stock heads, and great with massaged heads. I saw torque increases from 2,000 rpm up. :chevy

Stay at or below the 218 intake duration and all should be good. Go with a little higher lift for some added torque.
And, what kind of HP and torque increase do you get with the GM Hotcam? Also, if the dealer installs it (gulp), perhaps the warranty will not be in jeopardy in case of future engine problems. What do you think?
The B1 or the T1 Cam is a good choice. The only difference between the two cams is the lobe seperation angle. The T1 has a lower 112 LSA and will typically produce more low/midrange torque and also make peak hp around 150-200 rpms sooner than the B1. The T1 will idle a bit choppier and not do as well as the 114 LSA B1 during emission testing. Both the T1 and the B1 have passed. As far as peak hp figures, the cams are almost identical. The B1 should make a bit more peak hp, less than 5.
Damn Guys! I can't find my paperwork on the Hotcam. I was sold on it by this forum so I'm sure someone will chime in here. Jeff
something very similar to this.
219/228 525/525 112...good cam for those that want a little of each. It'll idle like a bigger cam, run very good, and not need 7K revs because of the 112 separation. Not good for A4 guys that don't want to pay for real PCM tuning.
