Shifter mods
what mods can i make to the stock shifter (without buying a new one)
i know of the anti venom mod. any others?
I have a stock shifter on 03 z06 daily driver / weekend warrior
i like the minimal effort, but i would like to reduce the notchiness/effort of gear-in and out (esp out from 1st).
I dont want to add noise/vibration from the shifter.
Maybe later i will chop the shifter for shorter throw to make it more proportional with clutch travel (or should i get a short throw shifter)
If i buy a shifter it will be (based on previous suggestoins)

the only thing you can do based on your criteria is ensure it it perfectly aligned.
I believe member jbauch357 has a post in the archives on the procedure...
IIRC I found it searching for the anti venom mod.

Based on your post have you tried the C6 Z06 shifter. It is much better than the stock C5. I have one installed on 03 Z and like it a lot. Very smooth no vibration and shorter throws. About 200.00 from Gene Culley on the forum. Good luck
